In addition to providing a host of continuing education courses for real estate professionals, the REALTOR® Institute offers several programs that lead to professional designations offered through the National Association of REALTORS® or other specialty councils. Designation courses provide:
- skills training in a particular area of real estate practice
- add prestige to enhance your professional image
- increase your marketability and productivity
- expand referral networks
See below for requirements to earn the ABR and SRS designations.
The REALTOR® Institute offers the courses that lead to the ABR designation (Accredited Buyer Representative), a National Association of REALTORS® designation course offering comprehensive skills training in buyer representation.
To obtain the ABR designation:
- Complete the two-day ABR course (Accredited Buyer Representative) that includes the passing of an exam
- Complete a one-day ABR elective course that includes an exam
- Document the participation in several transactions as the exclusive agent of the buyer
- Proof of membership in the Real Estate BUYER AGENT’s Council (REBAC)

The REALTOR® Institute offers the comprehensive two day course in advanced skills development necessary to adequately representing sellers. (Seller Representation Specialist)
The SRS course is offered through the SRS Council (not affiliated with the National Association of REALTORS®) and is taught by one of the three nationally recognized authors of the course. Although the designation requirements may change soon, a final exam or other elective courses are currently not required. Completion of the two-day course earns you the designation.

MS Continuing Education Student Requirements - SRS
Upon completion of the online course, the Mississippi REALTOR® Institute is required to submit an electronic roster with your personal Mississippi Real Estate License number to the Mississippi Real Estate Commission.
We have only 10 days to submit the CE hours on your behalf (10 Elective and 4 Agency Law Hours), so please forward your course completion notice from Internet Crusade to the Mississippi REALTOR® Institute immediately upon completion of your course. We will then submit your CE credit hours to MREC.
The Mississippi REALTOR® Institute must be able to reach you via email and/or phone in order to guarantee submission of your CE credits. Your information will not be used for any other purpose.
